5K Family Fun Run

5K Family Fun Run

We’re looking for volunteers who can help us set up and direct runners for our first 5k, and we’d love it if you can come! We’re working primarily with families and children in our program to inspire an active lifestyle and still have fun while doing it. Running or walking 3 miles can be hard, but your enthusiasm and encouragement as you direct them through intersections and crosswalks will make a big difference. Below is a list of things you may be asked to help with: Setting up (race course markers, inflatable arch, tables for booths, music) Popping popcorn and preparing snacks Assisting with check-in/registration and bib assignment Assisting at finish line Taking pictures Directing participants at intersections and turns Cleaning up (race course, arch, booths, trash, music) Families, friends, and individuals are all welcome as volunteers! We’ll have snacks and water for the runners and for you! Volunteers show up at 8 am, the race starts at 9 am, ends at 12 pm and clean up finishes around 1 pm. Christmas in the Hospital: Give a Child the Gift of Joy

❤️ Christmas is a season meant for family, warmth, laughter, and peace. But for many children at Primary Children’s Hospital, the holidays are spent under hospital lights instead of tree lights. Treatments replace traditions. Hospital rooms replace living rooms. And for families, the emotional weight can be overwhelming. For parents and loved ones, Christmas in the hospital is filled with fear, exhaustion, and heartbreak—watching their child go through pain while trying to keep hope alive. And for some children, the reality is even harder: not every child in the hospital has family with them at Christmas. Some spend the holiday alone, surrounded by machines instead of loved ones. This campaign exists for one simple, human purpose: To bring a little peace and show a lot of love—to both the children and the families walking this difficult road. We are collecting new, unopened gifts and gift cards to offer comfort, distraction, encouragement, and a reminder that these children—and their families—are not alone. These gifts aren’t about “getting presents.” They are about: Bringing calm during fear Offering comfort during long, uncertain days Reminding families that their community sees them Letting a child feel remembered, valued, and loved Giving a moment of peace when Christmas feels heavy 🎁 How You Can Donate Option 1 — Donate Directly to the Hospital You may mail or deliver gifts and gift cards directly to Primary Children’s Hospital. Option 2 — Send Your Gifts to Us for Delivery You may send your new, unopened gifts or gift cards to OpportunityToServe, and we will personally deliver them on your behalf. ✅ Only gifts sent to OpportunityToServe are tax-deductible. 🎁 This is a gifts and gift cards only campaign. Together, we can bring a little peace into hospital rooms this Christmas. We can remind children—and the families who love them—that even in their hardest moments, they are not forgotten and loved.
